When semi-pro boxer Benny returns to Philly after a year in the slammer, our wise-ass anti-hero finds that he can’t catch a break. His brother has moved in on his girl, and he’s being strong-armed by a creepy bookie who wants him to throw an upcoming fight.
With life’s little surprises leaving Benny punch-drunk, meanwhile a mysterious newcomer to the city arrives only to fight her own battles against a string of hapless suitors. When the two outcasts meet at a motel, Benny starts to believe she might just help him turn his luck around.
